Music=Life

Postby Redlockscot on Tue Mar 23, 2010 9:22 am

I LOVE music. It's what my earliest memory (as a 3 y/o) is built around. It is how I sense life and what makes life worth living.I was hoping to post a fun song (via Youtube) once or twice a week,so we can all share what may be some new music for others.Maybe it states how you feel today or how your week is going -post it!

My first on is one of the coolest faan made vids on Youtube. No it doesn't have Michael in it BUT it contains two of my other loves:Tim Burton visuals and Danny Elfman (thanks to Oingo Boingo) audio.Whoever did thi did a splendid job and everytime I hear/see it,it makes me happy. This is how MY week is going so far-fast,ecstatic and pretty amusing.Hope you all have a GREAT week!

and the oceans flow in my veins.

I declare every Tim Burton/Danny Elfman fans to be my friends, at once. I love Tim Burton. I watched almost every movie of his ;) Great guy :-) I love the Nightmare before Christmas music (even if it's for children, really). The music in Edward was quite awesome too...

I confess,I've seen every Burton film I could get my hands on.I think many (well most) are not meant for kids-even the animated ones-Nightmare,Corpse Bride and the like."Alice" was amazing!I saw it just last week.I have the soundtrack for Scissorhands-for writing. It's very good.Elfman is a master of "mood music".I must say,I couldn't really say it was obvious that he scored Terminator:Salvation though.

I have often wondered of Michael likes Boingo because they remind me of him-upbeat,clever,bordering on frantic and more than a little bawdy.I can't cook to Boingo (too frantic) but I DO clean to them.

My cousins made me listen to THAT song 19 times the day before yesterday. It's great (but definitely not my favourite) but it has been in my head since then :)

What do you think? I certainly have some "associations", when I listen to it...

(It's from Batman Returns btw.)

About Alice. It just started last week in Germany (and you cannot see it in English in the cinemas) but I don't have the money right now to watch it (And I will watch it, 3D costs double, though).

Johnny Depp was (up until now) my favourite actor. I still think there is NOONE as talented as him but I like Michael better. Seems to be more on the ground, with his feet I mean. Seems more "real" somehow. Does that make sence? But still Johnny Depp is the only one I ever used to obsess over, before :D
Burton/Depp are probably planning about 3 new films already, again.

They should take Elfman with them too. Wasn't he responsible for Sleepy Hollows music, too?

Elfman did do the music for Sleepy Hollow, yes. The first Boingo song I ever heard (over 20 years ago) was "Out of Control".It's still my favorite, along with "Elevator Man".

I discovered this band maybe a month ago. They are GREAT for fanfic writing!

Yeasayer is from Brooklyn,NY.They are well,I'm not sure-experimental pop?Enlightened electronica? They were on Jimmy Fallon when I first saw them. This isn't the song I heard (the vid is rated "Mature",so I didn't want to post it here)/Instead it is a happy goodbye to the snowy weather that I have shared with whoever made this beautiful video.

If I'm lucky I'll see them about 11 days from now (if I get tix before they seem out). And yeah-this could be my mood today.

I had to post another video-because all the MR haters are SERIOUSLY winding me up.

I have followed this band for about 15 years now, since I was in high school.I met them that long ago as well.I have seen them through many line-up changes-including the most recent two-which still make me sad.But this song is how things have made me feel today. This video is FUN though and it's their first ever video!

This is their most "mainstream" effort to date.Previous albums were VERY traditional and I love them just as much.Seen them play tons of times, got the t-shirt,pics,etc. to show it:)

Today I am feeling my Aries-ness!I'm ready to tackle everything (and anything) horns down and head-on.So,in honor of that I'm posting this.I have a crush on lead singer Ian Thornley. This is his first band Big Wreck. They recorded two amazing albums. Now he has moved on to form Thornley. They need to bring their butts down from Canada so I can see them!I love the incorporation of instruments you don't expect and the bite of a song that heavy without being heavy-handed.

It's called "Ladylike"

And no...I'm no so ladylike either.
