It occurred to me that looking for the right monologue might not be top priority for this particular audition. I suppose blathering on about myself is going to have to be sufficient. I haven't had time, yet, to explore the site as much as I'd like to before I post, so this is just a quick hello. Well...quickish. Alright, it might as well be a prose piece.

Let me preface this next bit by saying that it was in a very roundabout way that I started to enjoy Michael Rosenbaum's work. It might be a little hard to follow.

I am involved in an rpg (role playing group, i.e. a group in where people take individual characters and have them interact with other characters to create a story) inspired from the recently revived Star Trek franchise. I'd been playing a character for a while and having a lot of fun but felt the need to have someone completely different, a lighter-hearted muse. I decided to chose a Star Trek species at random and always thought it was interesting that though we've seen a lot of Orion women the men have gotten a bit of a shaft in the series.

Well, the Orions are interesting, and all I need to do is find a bald PB (played by [not peanut butter], i.e. a picture of an actor or model to represent a character) and give him green skin. It didn't take me long to find and recollect Michael Rosenbaum's role in Smallville. I was never a fan of Smallville (but have since started watching it again, giving it another chance).

So, here I have four pictures of Michael Rosenbaum with green skin. I kept looking at these pictures, shoddily manipulated via photobucket's online editing program, and I start wondering about this actor. So I looked him up. I saw a few interviews with him, alright he seemed pretty nice. Then I watched him at Dragon*Con in 2008. I about peed myself in laughter. Who the hell was this guy!

I immediately became endeared. Admittedly, I've not really had time to explore Mr. R's work as much as I'd like.* Though, as I mentioned before, I'm trying to make it through Smallville enough to enjoy his acting. And, hey! He's a good actor, too, isn't he?

At any rate, I find myself becoming a fan and thought I'd see what sort of social networking sites there were. See if I could find a nice niche to snuggle into. Perhaps even have a few good conversations with fans who are much more informed about Mr. R that I am.

I'll also be using this smiley fairly often as this brings to mind Mr. R more than the others. And because it's green. I might have a little obsession with that color.

Nice to meet you. I'm Maggie and I used to be fairly new myself (joined in march or so). The board is as nice as it gets. Everyone is friendly, very social and people here will most probably help you get every sort of information you may want! <---- decided to give yu joy...

The only problem that board seems to have, is that most of us are troubled with RL and cannot post as frequently as we'd like too. We also have a little number of active users (but probably loads of lurkers). Those people that post frequently are very nice, though

Btw, don't worry about your reason to become a fan We all have some. I became a fan, when I saw THE MOST embarrassing Smallville-BLOOPER (nope, not episode, I fell in love after the BLOOPER) <--- once more for the road!

I can understand about real life getting in the way. Where I live, we've recently had a lot of real life get smack dab in the way of everything. While I wasn't directly affected by the event, I've been trying to help with the aftereffects. So I more than understand school and situations in where chatting on a message board might not be the first thing that pops into your mind to do with your day.

Hi Green. I play RPG's as well.Never tried ST based ones (but I would love to).I play D7D and I would love a crowd to play Vampire with (say steampunk Vampire).

Hello Green and welcome to RosenbaumMedia, really happy you've joined this social network and i hope that you are gonna enjoy it here and maybe even become one of the most active members here.

As Chocobo said above, there are a lot of lurkers around but few active members but i rather choose quality than quantity, I try to be as active around here as i can but with my own job and all the things I have to do to update this website it's not always easy for me to interact with other members, but as far as i've seen, you are really gonna like it here, the few active members we have here are amazing and very nice with each other.

The good thing with this board is that we are huge fans of Michael without being too much obsessed about him, we live our own life, we come here at least once or twice a day for fun and we try to share with our friends (the members of this board) our opinions on things that are happening in Michael's life, without invading his privacy.

Each of us has his/her own reason to be a fan but that's not what gather us here, but it's rather Michael's talent, his humor and simplicity, .... and i can go on that gathered us here, and because this website is simple as Michael but also awesome too (like Michael *wink*) lol

I can only agree with what has already been said this is a great website and a lovely board which I have to admit I like not being too busy so I can keep up! Im a new fan too and I spend far too much time on my Michael fansite I love Rosenbaummedia I have found some good friends who mean a lot to me already and Im sure you will settle in fast just like I did

Wow, thank you for the immediate supportive welcomes! I don't think I've yet been to a board that went out of their way in replying to make someone feel at home. I really appreciate that.

I think what ultimately brought me to the boards was my perception that Mr. R was genuinely a nice guy. There are a good number of actors that are talented, but I appreciate more the ones that seem to accept fans with the utmost graciousness. Obviously this quality is reflected in the fans of Mr. R.

To be honest, that doesn't surprise me much

And I think it's fabulous that some of you are a fan of Mr. R in green. Gotta admit, the character is fun to play.
